Truck and Rail Terminals
High employee turnover and 24/7 operating schedules are inherent in all shipping related industries. So is the need to allow controlled access in and around shipping facilities, regardless of their location or size. The low cost of the CelAccess systems makes them well suited for the larger urban facilities and small remote facilities alike. Having a CelAccess system at entrance gates allows shippers to create personal access codes for their drivers to use when entering the dock areas. They can also be let in remotely by a central dispatcher once the driver's identity is determined. Once in the facility, additional access control can be placed on dock doors and even high security areas within the warehouse itself for increased security.
Example: A national trucking company had numerous small yards. Drivers, many of whom were independent drivers and not company employees, needed 24/7 access to these yards. Typical keypad systems were not secure enough because the codes were limited and rarely changed. Card-key systems did not provide access to non-employee drivers. CelAccess products allowed the company to easily create and provide access codes for each driver. Since each use is logged, a detailed time record of when drivers arrived and left the yards was available via the web interface. When the occasional driver that did not have a code needed access, they simply called the central operations facility and the manager was able to open the gate remotely.
