Communications Towers
Often multiple companies need access to a communications tower. Chain link gates with multiple locks provide little security and no record of who entered the property. With no accountability, when damage or theft occurs, the tower owner is left holding the proverbial bag. It’s important to be able to let appropriate people in while keeping others out. CelAccess provides a high level of security at low cost while allowing service personnel from multiple companies to have their own unique access codes. There is no longer a need for managing keys or combinations. Should an employee leave, their code can be deactivated in seconds. With special intrusion sensors installed and attached to the CelAccess system, its remote monitoring feature can now notify tower management if an unwelcome visitor is on the site. With the intruder unaware that his presence is known, the tower owner has a weapon to help prevent copper theft and vandalism before the damage is done and to keep his customers up, running and satisfied. Example: A mid-sized regional tower owner/operator had numerous tower locations, many in remote areas that required a significant amount of travel time to service. They were beginning to suspect that several employees were taking advantage of them by not giving them a full day’s worth of work. After installing CelAccess, they were able to create access codes for all of their company personnel as well as various service personnel to control access to sites on pre-determined days and times. Using the e-alerts feature and by rotating employee schedules, they were able to track each employee’s activity during the day. Upon a thorough review of the activity logs provided by the CelAccess system, the company was able to confirm their suspicions and the offending employees were summarily fired.
